Enamelled silver “Egyptian Revival” propelling pencil. 1920s.

245.00

A curious little gilded silver propelling pencil. Enamelled in red, white, turquoise and cobalt blue. It’s in absolutely gorgeous condition – probably never used.

It dates from the wild interest in all-things Egyptian when Tutankhamen’s tomb was opened in the 1920s.

6.5 cm (about 2.5 inches) tall. Fully hallmarked. It is sterling silver with a gold overlay.

Really lovely thing. With a top hook for wearing on a chain, this would look fantastic worn as a pendant.
