Early 18th century gilded statue of Maria Immaculata (Alpine)

This is a most beautiful statue that was most likely made in the Austrian Alps around 1700.

It’s carved and gilded wood and – with the typical symbolism for Maria Immactulata – it shows Mary standing on a globe around which a dragon/snake is wrapped. The beautiful little base below is probably not as old, but still antique.

12.5 inches high (32 cm).

Exquisite piece.
